Is SplitCove really free?
Yes. The free tier covers up to 3 coves and 6 expenses per cove per 24 hours, enough for most groups. Splitting, settling, sharing invites, and the entire core ledger is free, no ads, no card required. Pro (₹2,499 lifetime / $59.99 lifetime) unlocks unlimited coves, expenses, receipt scanner, insights, CSV/PDF export, recurring expenses, and multi-currency.
What's in Pro?
Unlimited coves, unlimited daily expenses, automatic receipt scanning, multi-currency coves, CSV + PDF export, recurring rent/utilities, spending insights, and custom themes. The Lifetime founder deal is ₹2,499 (originally ₹3,499) for the first 100 buyers; after that the price goes up.
Do my friends need the app?
No. Add them by email or phone and they get a friendly invite. They can sign in from any browser to view balances and settle up. You can also use SplitCove solo and add friends as placeholders.
How does payment work? Does SplitCove handle the money?
No. SplitCove tracks the ledger. We never touch your money. When it's time to settle, we make it one-tap fast: copy the amount, copy your friend's phone or UPI ID, then open your own UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, BHIM, Paytm). You pay the way you always do; we just remove the math and the typing. The settlement gets marked in the app and everyone's view updates.
What does voice expense actually do?
Tap the 🎤 button in any cove and say something like "Paid 800 for Uber, split with Rohan and Priya." SplitCove fills in the amount, description, payer, and split for you. Works in 8 languages including English and Hindi. It's the fastest way to log a split on the go.
How do push notifications work?
Opt in once from Settings → Notifications. You get pinged when a friend pays you, when someone adds an expense in your cove, or the day before a trip ends. Each category has its own toggle so you can keep payment alerts but mute app news, or any combo. We cap at 6 pushes per user per day and bundle bursts so a noisy Saturday night becomes one growing notification, not five separate ones.
What currencies do you support?
33 currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AED, SGD, CAD, AUD, JPY, and 24 more. Each cove uses one currency, picked when you create it. Your default is set from your location.
Is there an Android app?
Yes, on the Play Store. The web app also installs as a PWA on Android and iOS. Tap "Add to home screen" in your browser if you prefer the lighter route.
